All email links (Thunderbird/Outlook) now only open in a Private Window!
In the last couple of days, all email links (Thunderbird/Outlook) only open in a Private Window rather than my open, regular Firefox window. Anyone else?

Hi all,
So I am a multi-lingual user and changing input languages regularly by pressing Windows key + Spacebar.
In Firefox, I prefer turning "Smooth scrolling" OFF so the page sort-of jumps at a fixed distance instead "decelerates" when scrolling.
So far so good. But recently I noticed this Windows key + Spacebar combination can change Firefox's scrolling behavior.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Add one more language to Windows (I am using Win10 ... not sure about Win11 though) so that Windows key + Spacebar shows the language selecting popup 2. Turn OFF "Use smooth scrolling" in Firefox settings 3. Find a long webpage to test scrolling -- it should be "jumping" 4. On the same page, make sure Firefox is at focus, press Windows key + Spacebar to show that popup 5. Try scrolling again -- it's now scrolling very "smoothly". To my eyes, it's even much smoother than turning on "Use smooth scrolling" 6. Now click somewhere outside of Firefox(i.e. Taskbar) to lose focus then focus back to Firefox and scroll again, the smoothness is lost ... until switching language again.
I personally found it quite annoying... Is there something I can do to stop it from happening?
Thanks,
J

when you select text and right click popup "Search google for 'text marked'" , here google is your FF's default search engine, but for people in multi-lingual region would prefer to search e.g. web in the language of the selected text, which makes more sense for the results.
I wonder if FF could add this function, auto detect the text's language and search in e.g. google.de, google.cn or google.fr?
Which is like the macOS lookup, it detect the text language and point to that dictionary?
FF could be a little more intelligent, right?

I recently downloaded a file that may have had some sort of virus or malware. The file came up negative in Windows Defender and Malwarebytes but I deleted it anyways; however, I still get a download popup every time I open Firefox telling me that "This file contains a virus or malware." I've cleared the download library and browser history (cookies, cache, etc.) but I still get the popup from the Firefox.
Is there any known fix for this? Thanks!

There is No PC Firefox search microphone icon in address bar and No PC Firefox search microphone icon in google search. I can tap Settings. Scroll to the Privacy and Security section and tap on Site permissions. Next, tap on Microphone. However, there is no search microphone icon on Firefox address bar or in google search to click on. See attachment.

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times? Thanks for the help. Chuck

I tried everything in the message I received but there was no (obvious) way to reply. I will attach a screenshot of what is occurring. Search Baron is hijacking my web searches. If I specifically click on use google in the search bar then it works. If I just type a search phrase, search baron takes over (see the URL in the attached screenshot, that is what appears no matter what I search). I can open a web page fine.
Just want the Home button for now, that's it :)

I've gone through all of the steps to reset my Firefox browser and attempted to change my search engine from Duckduckgo to Startpage. Every time it works a couple of times then Duckduckgo hijacks the search engine back to itself. I've deleted this search engine, reset my browser, said yes to prompts by Startpage to be the default browser, and tried everything that I can think of. Very, very frustrating. And I start to worry about the security of the Firefox browser itself. Any ideas?
Thanks, David
Is this a known issue or is there a work-around?

Hi,
I have Firefox 102 ESR in Debian 11 (LXC in Chrome OS). It is the en_US version with Czech spell checking dictionary installed as an add-on. I can switch the spell checker from English to Czech in ordinary text areas by accessing the context menu via a right mouse click.
However, I'm using a proprietary e-commerce system (Shoptet) with a WYSIWIG editor that has its own context menu, overriding the default one in the browser. I can't switch the language for that reason. Is there a way to switch the spell checker language for a particular text area without access to the context menu? Thank you very much.
Petr
Whenever I click on a mailto link, FF attempts to open MS Outlook, which I've never used. How to get it to generate a TB mail blank?
