If I try to log on to any Google service the tab crashes. There's also some random websites to cause crashes like stackoverflow.com.

I've done the checking of my system with sfc /scannow and it all came out okay as well as doing safe mode and clearing out all my cookies/data.

Here's the crash reports I keep getting (they are all pretty much the same): bp-04470f75-be59-4080-b624-24eac0190303 bp-69e099ef-573c-4dea-b781-8b5900190303 bp-39dec853-e59b-4316-b580-4bae70190303 bp-d6af900e-b87b-4b7f-9d71-d9ab20190303 bp-e9267ab4-c619-490c-88cd-43a6f0190303

I decided to try Nightly, and had Firefox and Nightly both installed. After I did and tried to log onto my gmail account, Firefox (and Nightly) had problems with the redirection to the gmail web site.

I have now uninstalled Nightly, and the problem disappeared. I, therefore, suspect there is some sort of bug in Nightly.

This happened with a recent Nightly update. I am on Firefox Nightly 60.0a1 (2018-02-11) (64-bit). Before a update, one or two days ago, I had 12 pinned sites (6 on each row, 2 rows, for a total of 12) for my new tab page. Now with the latest Nightly update, I have my 12 previous pinned sites, but 4 random sites are added, for a total of 16 - which looks hideous. Refer to the image for more details. I can't change the no. of tiles in the activity stream, since the flag for that is gone. How do I resolve this? This completely ruined my browsing experience.

I was running Firefox Nightly, opened about:profiles and launched a new instance with a different profile from there. At this time, the green update icon indicated there was an update in queue which was then installed right before starting the new Firefox instance, while the old instance was still running. At first everything was fine, my other profile launched, I did my work, closed it and after some more time also closed my main profile. But then when I restarted Nightly, it brought up a Mozilla Crash Report pretty much instantly... My profile is broken

I could work-around this by starting Firefox Beta which prompted me to Refresh the profile... Now I can launch Firefox again, but all the settings from about:config and my extension settings are gone. Is there any way to bring back those settings?

I made a backup of the profile before the refresh so I'm positive the data is still somewhere... However, just copying the profile.js file doesn't work, then I will get the prompt again to refresh my profile...

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I've recently been dealing with something weird with regard to the update feature in Nightly.

Yesterday, I decided to check for an update on Nightly, and it started downloading. Once finished, I was prompted to restart to let the update take affect.

After waiting for a minute, I noticed nothing opening up again. I opened up Task Manager (I'm on Windows 10 Pro) and saw that both Nightly and the Nightly update service were both in the Backgrounds Processes section.

After a bit of waiting, the update process vanished, but Nightly remained no matter how much time passed.

I had to end up killing/ending the process/task. I did this twice more and it wasn't until the third attempt when I realized I was already running the latest version of nightly. Yet, Nightly, for whatever reason still attempted to receive/install an update.

I'm sure there are already similar questions like this, but I may not have come across them.

It is worth mentioning that I have both Firefox 54.0 Release (32-bit) AND Nightly 56.0a1 release installed on my system.

I'm currently running two profiles: the default is stuck with just Firefox release, and I created a separate profile for nightly.

Annoyingly, Nightly installs and initially runs with the default profile in use. I find this extremely annoying and prone to give errors.

That aside, I followed a guide on the Stack Exchange that addressed how to get Ngihtly to run with a predefined profile.

I edited the shortcut properties (in start menu folder/directory) and added to the Target field a "-p profile_name".

This was done after initial installation and it's been working since then.

All of the sudden, it stopped working. Not sure why.

Clicking on Nightly now only opens the standard/stab;e Firefox application.

What I'm most upset about is that I actually uninstalled Nightly after noticing the weird update inconsistency, and later reinstalled it.

The issue persisted and I'm about to try again.

Why did Nightly think it needed to be updated in the first place?

I can only imagine that some kind of corruption occurred and now it's getting worse.

Another last testament:

I tried refreshing the profile for nightly, and it didn't do anything.

When I uninstalled Nightly the first time, a folder was created in my Desktop which related to an old profile.

Sine I was given no instructions as to what to with that, and noticed no performance conflict when running Nightly after reinstalling, I deleted the folder.

What bug am I suffering from?

I've been using Firefox Nightly for a while, but I think it updated today an now it crashes on startup. I have been completely unable to use Firefox since the last update.

Here's the error log:

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/b1deabe3-0996-434d-a403-9e58b0171105

and

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/dc99de52-2869-428b-a8da-b745c0171105

I tried running in safe mode with "firefox -safe-mode", but it still crashes.

I also tried deleting my profile from "%appdata%/firefox/profiles" but that didn't help either.

Any ideas? Is there anyway I can go back one version in Firefox nightly?

Thanks!

Hello, I have been using Firefox for at least three years or so and I actually decided to try the Firefox Nightly browser. However, just yesterday I started to have issues with the browser, for some strange reason or another, I will get the 'Your connection is not secure' page no matter what website I go to. The error code is the following:

www.deviantart.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported.

Error code: MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_MITM_DETECTED

At first, I thought it was because I needed to update my antivirus (I use AVG), so when I did update it and restarted my computer, the browser worked for a little while, but then it started acting up again not long after with the same error. Again, this does this for any website I try to go to, not just DeviantART.

This is the code text from Nightly that I would presume codes for the certificate:

https://www.deviantart.com/ Your connection is being intercepted by a TLS proxy. Uninstall it if possible or configure your device to trust its root certificate. HTTP Strict Transport Security: false HTTP Public Key Pinning: false

Certificate chain:

This is happening only in Nightly 39.0a1 (2015-02-24), and I can't find where to change the setting, and frankly don't know how it got changed in the first place. When Mozilla support sends a reply to my Hotmail account it contains two links. One is "This doesn't solve my problem" the other is "browse for unsolved questions and help a Firefox User". In the Nightly browser, if I click on either of these the browser freezes. No other tab can be opened; the back arrow cannot be used; the refresh symbol does not work; and Nightly can only be closed from the Task manager. Worse, if it is left open it disables other applications. While the task manager is open, if it is moved, it leaves a trail of repeated copies of itself. If Quicken is closed part of the display remains on the screen. Even using CTL+ALT+DEL to refresh the screen and asking only to open the task manager does not resolve this problem. Am I REALLY part of a Beta test or did you all just skip Alpha and give us anything that looked like it could be called a browser?

I'm running Neon 5.15 (Linux KDE desktop running on Ubuntu 18.4). I have been running Firefox Nightly. I reinstalled my OS due to a hard drive issue. Now Firefox sporadically fills my network with chatter, preventing other family members from being able to access the internet. I have: tried installing Kubuntu - same issue renaming .mozzilla and allowing Firefox to create a new profile allowing Sync to provide bookmarks, etc. - same issue disabled all addons: extensions, themes, plugins - same issue used standard version of Firefox - same issue

To ensure it's actually Firefox I've been using Chromium (open source version of Chrome) for the past 3 days and have had no issues. I'm using Firefox to write this but have had to close it 3 times due to network chatter.

Please help, I don't want to use Chromium, I want my Firefox back. I've been using it since version 0.5.
