OK - I have searched and Googled.

This happens with FF 46 32 bit, 64 bit, portable, on Win 7 32 bit, 64 bit and windows 10. It happen in safe mode. It has all plugins up to date. I t has remove all but needed and non removable add ins - such as Flash, Acrobat Reader, etc. It happens on computers with plenty of RAM (16 GB). Oddly enough, it happens worse with safe mode and plugin container is run-a-way. With normal mode, it appears that plugin container is under control and Firefox itself runs amuck.

So - totally repeatable. Page down in Firefox with one or 50 tabs open - no matter. It will crash. Goes black, or stops responding. Until Firefox closes. NEVER happens with Edge for example.

I have to think it is a Firefox memory leak, but even using Firemin does not help much if at all.

What can be done? I have done my homework!

I have an HP Pavillon, Juno email and Firefox is my default browser, At some point while accessing my email I will get the "unresponsive script" error and although it gives my options to continue, debug or close, none of it works and computer freezes. So I have to go to Task Manager and close everything down and start over. Very frustrating. It has also happened when I have been on other websites or with Internet Explorer. HP has tried fixing it, Juno has tried ....all to no avail. I've tried refresh, done many virus/malware scans, etc. It seems to me there is a plug-in or an add-in or some box somewhere not checked. Any ideas?

I have spent 3 days trouble shooting this and can't resolve it. Firefox won't load pages, just get a grey spinning circle forever. No other message. I close firefox and restart, it won't start as it is still running in background. Task manager will not close it. I have to reboot the PC. I have tried deleting profiles, which helps for a few minutes then it locks again. I tried re-installing firefox and again it works for a few minutes then nothing. I have completely deleted all 'appdata' and still no luck. New profile doesn't help. I checked all security settings, firewall, etc. and nothing helped. I tried safe mode and the problem still exists. I have used firefox for years and now may have to walk away. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I thought I was (or still am) having a problem with Windows 10, but one tech said she didn't think so and I don't know if I will get a response. +++++++++++++++ Before I go into great detail here, I'm going to state what happened and see if you had anything similar or it rings a bell.

BSOD - no code given. The error is always KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE.

The past three incidents (last night and twice today) were when I was in outlook.com email and right clicked on a website.

 I can read other email and click other links, but when I click on THIS company, I get the BSOD.   Event viewer simultaneous errors are "Update Windows license and product key tokens failed with 0x80070005."
  No driver errors and I checked Driver Update. No malware or viruses (several scans).  I have an event viewer full of the same information, which I am happy to provide.

I did the May cumulative update on Saturday and subsequently had four BSOD shutdowns. I posted to Microsoft, as I did last month when their CU crashed my computer. I have had BSODs every days since Saturday. I tried reinstalling the updates and it crashed my computer again.

The website that keeps crashing ME is below. When I go to "Tools" then click on "Add-Ons" then click "Plug-Ins" and then click on "Check To see If Plug-Ins Are Up To Date" it goes to Mozilla Check Your Plug in Page all it does is sit and spin at the "Checking with Mozilla on the status of your plugins." I am using Win7 Pro and just downloaded Firefox update to 35.0.

Hi,

I have been using a website daily without issue for several years, suddenly last week I received a message saying secure connection failed when trying to do a search function on the website.

It has today got worse as I get the message now as soon as I log on, rather than when I just do a search.

The site is fine and I have used it for years. Please see attached screenshot.

Please help as its really driving me crazy!!

The back button has not been working properly for maybe a month. I've finally addressed the problem but have no solution. Updated to Firefox 43.0, disabled all my add-ons plus reverted to default header, then also ran the refresh which deleted my add-ons. This problem happens on multiple web sites. I'll click on Rawstory.com (as an example), then click on an article and start reading it. While the page doesn't appear to reload as I read, I have noticed that the little Rawstory icon in the tab winks (as if reloading the page). This happens over and over again. Now I know to pull down the window under the back arrow to see what happened. The last page that I read ended up showing up 9 times under the back arrow, even though all I'd done was click on it once and read the article. I've wondered if my clicking on the scroll bar to read down the article is somehow causing this problem (ditto for using my fingers on the track pad). Thanks for your help.

I have Firefox 44.0.2 but this problem has been going on even on previous versions. If I click on the star it goes through the motions of placing a bookmark. I even see this animation of a star moving to the list of bookmarks. But when I go into the bookmarks they are not listed. I have tried right clicking on the page and clicking the star and I have tried it form the tool bar. Neither works. I have also renamed the places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old and that doesn't seem to do a thing.

Hey I have to delete the cookies once in a while to keep my device fast. But there are some important cookies that I need to keep. But as I delete all cookies, they get deleted too. So is there any way that the cookies that get stored from websites, will be transferred to a cloud storage. Like Onedrive, Dropbox, Google Drive etc? It will be a lot of help if it is possible.

When I bring up a spreadsheet online in google docs Firefox starts dimming the screen, others tabs run slow. The screen dimming will last, for 2-3 minutes, and then clear up, 2-3 minutes later it will dim again. The fewer tabs I have helps, but not the answer. IMO the problem has gotten worse over the few upgrades. I have an HP 2000 Laptop, CPU 1300.000 MHz, memory 7586 MiB.

Operating system: OS X 10.9

Starting about four months ago, I began to see untitled and non-selectable windows spawning after my browser had been open for a while (i.e. after I visited a few sites). The number of these invisible windows grows over time, but are removed if I close the browser and start a new session. This has persisted through many new versions of Firefox.

I tried turning off all of the add-ons. Still happened.

I tried keeping track of what sites caused the problem. No correlation.

Today I uninstalled Firefox, using AppZapper -- which should have removed everything -- then did a new install. The only thing that I imported were bookmarks from the backup directory in my old Profile folder.

The problem started with Outlook.com not wanting to send attachments all of a sudden. Unfortunately I let somebody from the Microsoft support mess about with my computer through a remote app and now it's gone from bad to worse. On every site I visit, I get the This connection is untrusted error and when I just go through to the site, the website doesn't show properly. I don't get images, just the words as links. I then reset my system a couple of days back through system restore but that didn't help. I have uninstalled Firefox and downloaded a new version. Still the same problem. I have deleted cert8 but that didn't help either. I know the guy did something in Troubleshoot Problems so my guess is that he deleted a certificate of some sort but I don't know how to get it back. My partner uses Firefox and he has the same problem at the moment that Outlook.com can't attach files.

I hope someone can help me as I'm at my wits end at the moment. Thanks. (I'm surfing in Chrome at the moment as Firefox doesn't work)

I've had this problem since version 44.0, but when I post comments to WordPress (https://wordpress.com/) blogs, what happens is not what is supposed to happen - the comment either automatically posting or saying "awaiting administration" - but the page reloads as if the comment went through, but instead it takes me back up to the top of the page, more particularly to the address bar and the url is the url of the page, but with a "#" sign at the end.

I considered this may be the problem with a particular WordPress blog, so I wrote the creator. He told me he hadn't blocked me and that other's comments were coming through. So, I've seen been on other pages, but the same problem occurs. All I can think of is that it must be a particular personal Firefox setting or the browser as a whole.

Anyone else having this problem?

Cleaning history manually causes extreme CPU usage and FF can be closed only through Task Manager

Sorry, but to be honest with every update FF becomes worse and worse. It's sad because for me it is (on the edge already to say it was) the best browser.

After the latest update I have one more issue - when cleaning history manually (besides that that time Adobe Flash process opens even on a blank tab and I close it from Task manager) the CPU usage becomes extreme. I always clean my history manually, because I wanna chose what to be Forget That Site or only Delete Page (so to keep the cookies for certain pages). I do this everyday. CPU usage jumps up to 90% and when I close FF it stays in Task Manager forever with 60% CPU usage and can't close itself. I need to end FF process every time.

Because all recent issues I disabled many addons. When Googled issues with Adobe Flash (which also might mess with history cleaning) I read some blame AdBlock+ or/and NoScript that in their job of blocking ads and scripts they could cause FF slowness and high CPU usage.

Today I tried to launch Firefox from the Norton Support menu, It took more than two minutes to load. After that it takes two minutes on restart. When it finally runs all websites a lightening fast, except for Norton, which is very slow if at all. Three sessions with norton chat support have not improved anything and following the Firefox troubleshoote including reinstallation have not solved either.

Hello everyone

I think that recently I had to update Flash version and it was all okay even after the update. But yesterday videos on YouTube all of a sudden stopped displaying. Just like that, in the morning they were okay and then around of noon, all of sudden blank. Didn't install anything new or something.. now I only get White screen with no any border, just an empty spot where the video should be. Beside that, any other flash content [i.e. videos on Facebook, vimeo are not displaying as well]. All I get on YouTube is constant "loading" indicator beside the cursor which keeps blipping.

Now the strange thing is first - I have no problems with this on other browsers like i.e. Google Chrome, and second.. IF I uninstall Flash from my PC, I can watch YouTube videos on Mozilla although the max resolution is 720p.. and vimeo/facebook videos will still not work. How da heck is that even possible? O.o

I've tried a lot of different things and nothing helped.. here are some of the them [I hope I won't forget something]

- Uninstalling Mozilla/Flash then installing them again - Uninstalling Flash, then letting Mozilla suggest me to add it - Disabling/Deleting all of my extensions - Turning off that hardware acceleration thingy - Deleting cookies from YouTube then adding them to exceptions - Clearing out whole history/cache or whatever - Right clicking on the "empty space" where video should be.. to see if any options will pop-up [Of course they don't, there is no video to start with] - Scanning for viruses [Nothing]

Can anyone please help me? Any suggestion, what can I do?
