EVERY TIME I CLOSE FF WHEN I REPOPEN IT, I END UP BACK AS IF I JUST INSTALLED IT. ALL MY BOOKMARKS ARE GONE, ALL MY EXTENSIONS ARE GONE, LIKE I JUST INSTALLED IT.

I'VE TRIED UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING AND IT STILL DOES IT.

Don't know how to describe the issue. I leave the computer on all night. In the morning, when I move the mouse to activate the screen, there is a large, 3-panel image with links to various websites. Today's panels are titled "Daily Wonder," "Hats Off to the Class of '25," and "Markets." A click on any of these panels takes me to a website. No idea how these panels are produced or by whom. If I try to take a screenshot, the images disappear and my normal home screen is shown. I do not recognize anything in the Task Manager that might explain this. Not sure if this is a Windows issue or a Firefox issue. Perhaps another user can ask me questions that will lead to more information.

Although I have checked "Always Ask" to specify my download location, duplicates are still being saved in "Downloads". I recently "upgraded" to Windows 11 but do not know if it is connected. FF version 138.0.3 (64-bit). How can I prevent this please?

I have noticed that Firefox has been getting too many updates recently...even as much as 2 updates this week alone. Frankly i'm sick of getting the green icons and pop-ups in the upper right corner. Is there a way in about:blank codes to turn off these stealth downloading behaviour and prompt pop-ups to restart the browser and let me just manually do it in settings when i want to but without notifications ?

I restarted Firefox and noticed my toolbar book marks were missing. In further inspection, I noticed all my bookmarks over many years are missing. This is obviously a disaster. What happened? Is there way to recover this information?

According to Mozilla and all other online instructions for changing Firefox wallpaper, one must click on the Settings icon (pinwheel) in the upper right corner of a new tab. There is no such icon anywhere on the new tab screen. There is no wallpaper to select under the Settings menu (three dashes) in the top right hand corner. I have the latest version of Firefox. What version are these instructions for? And how does one change the Firefox wallpaper? Firefox is my default browser in Ubuntu 2204 LTS.

I seem to have accidentally set up tab-groups, on desktop. Probably I fat-fingered a shortcut to group some tabs. This is a function I'll never intentionally use — since I'd rather not cut off my fat fingers, is there a way to permanently shut off tab-groups?

I work accessing the configuration pages of equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, APs, etc...) and these messages are very annoying. They disrupt the workflow and are unpleasant.

Is there any extension that makes a list of security exceptions (for example, everything on the 192.168.0.0/16, 172.16.0.0/12, 10.0.0.0/8 network)? It would be interesting if Firefox itself had this exception option.

Hi, I want a website (Protonmail, my email client) to store persistent data. I have enabled it, but I also have all my browser security settings on Strict (also clearing browse data and cookies on each closing of the browser), so now when I have downloaded the data and I close and reopen my browser: it's all gone. Today I needed to reboot my browser, and did so they same way i've done countless times before, but when I restarted it only 10 of the 11 windows I had open before closing it were in the "Recently closed windows" section of "History".Please tell me there's some way to recover that window.I had a lot of tabs open in that window that I need back.Why would Firefox just discard it like this?Like I said, i've done this so many times without an issue.
