Starting about a week ago, several sites/pages that I've previously visited successfully will no longer load. Most notably, I can no longer get Amazon's "My Cart" page to load. Instead, I get the following message:

    Secure Connection Failed

    An error occurred during a connection to smile.amazon.com. Peer using unsupported version of security protocol. Error code: 
    SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Well, I'm not likely to get much attention from Amazon, and the smaller sites are as confused about this as I am.

I've already tried the "no proxy" setting in FF (no joy) and renaming cert8.db and deleting cert_override.txt (also no joy).

My next test is to disable all of the extensions that I've installed in the past month (but I have to restart, so this post comes first--I'll report back in a reply).

I get this message when I tray to open facebook.

I can't attach any files in my outlook web app using Firefox. However, using Microsoft's Edge, there's no problem. I prefer Firefox but this is really hindering my work. I restarted Firefox, removed all plug ins, but no success with that.

this is really becoming a problem. so many sites have links that absolutely will not open in FF - Java? I don't know. But Chrome always works. here's a sample:

For the last 2 days this malware has taken over my firefox browser! First I noticed that my homepage and new user tab was changed and redirected to safe finder. Even though I was able to fix that through a Firefox refresh, my browser still redirects to this safe finder yahoo search engine, whenever I try to visit a url directly or use the search bar or even use one of Firefox settings options (e.g. add-ons and options).

I've signed out of my firefox account, refreshed firefox twice and deleted the old firefox data folders each time. I installed avast and malwarebytes (windows defender win.10 was useless) to do a scan and moved some viruses to the chest during reboot. Then I went into safe mode and uninstalled firefox, checked all my processes although I didn't see any suspicious programs in my task manager and then followed with a disk cleanup before rebooting.

I still have these problems after reinstalling firefox and even in safe mode I still get redirected. Help!??

Running 64 bit Firefox 45.0.1 on Windows 7. Installed 64 bit Java jre-8u77-windows-i586 several times, but it doesn't show up on the Plugins list. Yes, I've restarted Firefox. I also tried installing it with Firefox shut down. I made sure the Java installation was going to the Program Files directory vs. Program Files (86) (at this point I think it's gone to both). The Java installer claims it completed successfully. The "Enable Java content In the browser" box on the Java Control Panel is checked. I considered falling back to 32 bit, but java.com only offers the 64 bit version.

I've never had this problem before. What am I doing wrong?

I read somewhere that the recent update from Firefox 45.0 to 45.0.1 was, in part, to fix an issue where some videos do not load in Firefox if third party cookies were blocked.

In my case, all videos loaded fine UNTIL I installed the update that Firefox said it needed, which was to update Firefox 45.0 to 45.0.1. After the update, some video files will not load at all. The video page and player will load, and the loading animation will start, but the video never loads. On sites that have an indicator as to what percentage of the file is loaded, it will go up to 99%, but will never finish loading, if it is really loading at all.

All my plugins related to video files are up to date. I am running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit operating system, have plenty of RAM. I began having the problem when I updated Firefox from v. 45.0 (32-bit version) to v. 45.0.1. Before the update, everything was working fine.

I tried playing the same videos in Internet Explorer 11, and they load and play just fine. Therefore, it is a Firefox issue, and a Firefox 45.0.1 issue specifically.

Am I just stuck with this albatross, or is there somewhere I can download Firefox 45.0 and go back to that version of Firefox?

After using Firefox's suggestion to fix slow browser performance, which it did help, now when I print my work orders the headers and footers print also. Yes I can set these to blank but it will not hold the preset and I am forced to do this each time I print. I updated my HP driver, it did not help

I am running Firefox 45.0.1 and have been unable to access a website that I usually use to monitor my internet usage. The site is "http://www.nwtel.ca/my-account/internet-usage-report/" and i have followed this page "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER#w_the-error-occurs-on-one-particular-site-only" to try and eliminate the issue but have been unable to get anywhere. I did what the page said and tried to add it to my exceptions manually as there is no option to add it on the page but have found no luck yet. I tried emailing the company and they say contact Firefox or use Internet explorer as according to them the internet usage page is working. Looking for any help anyone can give on this as Firefox dose have a contact us option.

For many past updates, I have not been able to bookmark any pages. When I click on the star I see a blue star move to the bookmarks image, but the page data is nowhere to be found. This is getting serious. Something is wrong with my browser. HELP!

My home page is www.newyorktimes.com. It does not fill the monitor using firefox as the browser. The font is also too small and is not clear. Using Google Chrome this website displays properly. It also seems that most other websites fill the monitor and display properly on Firefox.  ???

So I've upgraded pfsense (which has my own self-signed cert for the GUI) to 2.3. For some reason, this has broken management for it via Firefox. It still works with Chrome.

Here is the error- The connection to 192.168.50.1:449 was interrupted while the page was loading.

What I have done to try to rectify this.... 1) Checked that both time of pfsense and my computer match (they do and Chrome works right with this anyway.) 2) Manually imported both the CA and cert. 3) Deleted cert8.db and let FF recreate it. 4) Tried a new profile (which works once and then fails as soon as FF is restarted.) 5) Tried on both Windows and Linux (neither side works.) 6) Generated a new cert for the GUI (which Chrome again just accepts but FF refuses.)

FF version is 45.0.1

I haven't seen anything else that addresses this. The key did not change in the upgrade. Even had it done that, I would think that by generating a new cert entirely should prompt for making a permanent exception again.

I've narrowed it down to FF as both Chrome and Vivaldi work perfectly on it. Nothing seems to have helped and the FF landing page doesn't reveal any useful info (as in SEC_ERROR_INSECURE_CIPHER or the like.)

Any help is very much appreciated as I hate opening Chrome solely to manage my firewall.

Do I, home single/sole user of my pc, need the .NET Framework Assistant? Firefox has disabled version 0.0.0 and I am told to remove it (but that is not possible, it can only be disabled, and Firefox has already done that) and to install version 1.3.1.1 . I will hardly ever install new programs on my pc, who bothers to click twice?

I have tried to add an image, but I failed. A .jpeg would not convert to a .png apparently. But I think the question is clear enough in itself.

This is driving me crazy. When I have Firefox open in full screen with several tabs open, and then I go to another program window to do something and then come back to Firefox by clicking on the taskbar and selecting one of my Firefox tabs, the entire Firefox window, which had been full screen, shrinks to a smaller size. I really want it to stay full screen. Why does it do this? I have searched and searched and tried different things (safe mode, turning off all my add-ons, etc.) and nothing changes this behavior. What is going on? The only way to get it to remain full size is if I have the presence of mind to minimize the other windows, rather than select Firefox from the taskbar.

Recently the fonts on my Google Docs and on some Gmail are looking pixelated. I did a lot of troubleshooting including safe mode, refresh firefox, clean reinstall. What I did was I copied the profile folder (with the long string for a name) to desktop and deleted the folder in firefox program files. I then added in piece by piece back into the profile until I isolated the problem. It is clear the the issue is in the PREF file. However I have no idea what there is in the file to change short of deleting it (and losing all my settings, extension settings etc.) which I do not want to do. Is there a particular change I can make to the pref file to rectify the matter? I am attaching a sample of what I am seeing in the font. I will also attach a sample of what it looks like in Chrome (which is what it should look like) Well the upload of the images is not working so I will submit the question without it.
