The Yahoo toolbar simply appeared at start up the other day. I don't want it, won't use it, and want to get rid of it. The two suggestions on your Help didn't relate: Click on the "Pencil Menu"--what and where is that? Can't find anything that remotely appears to be a Pencil Menu. 2nd: Go to Tools, click on Extension--no such thing on my Tools menu anywhere.
Real help, please!

I think some that suggest superfish or surf canyon do not install anything unless you agree is complete nonsense. I think the work for these scam sites and trying to pull your leg. I searched all of my computer and did not find either one of them anywhere. I never allowed any software to install unless I have researched what or who they are and what good they do for me. But nevertheless I got this vicious software interfering with my search on every shopping site I was on. God knows what information they got. Imagine they are on the sites where you buy stuff and enter you passwords, credit card numbers, your address and phone numbers etc. Scary uh!!!. If this company is legitimate why dont they show up in you programs as superfish since their address is superfish.com? Why is there no easy way to uninstall this like real programs? Sorry but I think these scams need to be stopped and rooted out. Superfish: If you are legitimate show up on our computer as one! Dont sneakup and install your scamware in our computers. Please post removal instructions!
Trying to locate the storage area for site programming testing purposes.

A user on my workstation uses Firefox and has visited a site that installed "Win 7 Internet Security 2011" on this machine. I successfully identified and removed the Trojan virus software. The browsers where neutralized by this virus and are inoperable. I created a new user account for this person. This user has been reinfected with the new account.
I want to find out where this user has been to identify where this Trojan virus is coming from. The only way I know how to do this is by reviewing the history log file to see where this person has been. I want to review the history location as the administrator of the machine; not use the infected user account. If there is a better way to do this outside of the infected user account, I am open to suggestions.

I use check point SSL network extender on my mac to access my company's VPN. Since upgrading to 4.0.1, I get the message "Please confirm the use of this Java applet and then refresh or reopen the window.
If you have already disapproved using this applet, you might need to restart your browser before attempting to connect again" I'll accept, refresh, wait, and then the message comes back. I never get through. I just uninstalled 4.0.1 and went back to 3.6.17 and it's working fine on the old version.

Somehow this add-on called Coupon Buddy was installed. It's very annoying and I'd like to remove it. The company says it should be under add-ons. It's not there or under extensions. They now say it's embedded in the toolbar and I have to remove the toolbar. Can anyone tell me what to do?

I visit a few known intranet locations that do not have proper certificates installed; therefore, I receive the "This Connection is Untrusted" notice.
In 3.x versions of Firefox, I could click the "Add Exception" button to add an exception and continue to the site.
In 4.x versions of Firefox, the "Add Exception" button simply doesn't work. There is no way to add an exception from the "This Connection is Untrusted" screen.

Hi, I'm a network admin for a school (~900 computers and ~1600 users) and need to deploy a certificate so that any user on any computer trusts it.
We are mostly WinXPSP3 and have IE8 and FF3.6 as part of our image. We installed a new web filter/proxy that is able to filter HTTPS (most can't) which means all HTTPS traffic now goes to this server which then makes the request to the Internet ie the user's computer never connects directly to the web server. Without anything being done the user is presented with the usual Firefox warning saying the website eg Internet banking isn't trusted and asks if the user wants to continue. This is because they are connecting to the proxy not the web server. To get around this the user must trust the certificate from the proxy. The user never sees the certificate from the web server but the proxy will check the web server's certificate to ensure it is valid.
Using Group Policy we have deployed this trusted certificate to all computers and this allows IE, Safari, Opera and Chrome to work as they use the certificates with IE. But Firefox works completely differently and has it's own certificate database in %userprofile%\Applcation Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profile\xxxxx.default\cert8.db.
We could create a base cert8.db file and copy it to the user's folder but there are 2 problems with this - 1) the xxxxx.default folder is not always the same and 2) it would overwrite the user's existing file which would erase any certificates they'd installed.
We could create a new SOE image with the certificate installed but that would mean rebuilding ~900 computers and is therefore not a valid option.
We need to find a way to deploy this certificate to all computers which would allow any user to be able to trust it. How can this be accomplished?

A few minutes ago, my brother clicked Tools>Clear recent history and selected 'Clear Everything' including my Browsing and Download Histories (He did this without my permission, and I've warned him many times before about this zzz). So now, I still have my Bookmarks but not my History and Downloads, and I need them rather urgently. I'm using Firefox 4 and I want to restore my past-visited sites. How do I restore/recover those lost files? I have not closed my Firefox window yet, and I couldn't really find any 'history.dat' file in the Mozilla Folder. Please help me!

When using Explorer I have not encountered any problems and the site functions fine. It's a shame as Firefox is my preferred Browser.
