I'm using the web version of the Discord app. The problem is that in the Firefox browser, when broadcasting the screen, the sound is not broadcast to the viewers.

The sound is not broadcast in any of the cases.: - during the demonstration of the application - only when windows are displayed - when displaying the entire monitor screen

Previously, there was no such problem in the Firefox browser. Please add an audio recording option if I want to showcase a screen from web applications such as discord.

Hello! I'm connect my HUAWEI FreeBuds 5i to macbook. Listen some music, watch video on web without problem. When I put the headphones in the case, I realized that music or video with sound doesn't play until I take them out and put them in my ears. Music and videos automatically stop playing. Video without sound is played normally. At the same time in Safari everything plays normally. Function "Forget device" didn't work for me.

How can this be fixed?

Edition Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 Installed on ‎12/‎16/‎2024 OS build 26100.2605 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

All of my videos from Lifeway, YouTube, even thumbnails on Etsy scramble the video making it unviewable. I contacted Dell and over a week we determined my hardware, software is not the issue. I switched browsers to Brave and Edge and these browsers did not have the same issues. Dell has requested I reach out to you.

Video Flickering and Lag in Firefox

Hi everyone,

About a month ago, I began experiencing issues with video playback. When I visit websites with videos (such as YouTube, news sites, etc), the videos often start flickering, as shown in the screenshot. This flickering is accompanied by significant lag, which only stops if I scroll away from the video or navigate off the page.

I’ve noticed that disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox fixes the flickering issue, but it introduces bad screen tearing, which is also annoying. I’d prefer to keep hardware acceleration enabled to avoid tearing, but the flickering and lag make it unusable in its current state.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, are there any known fixes or settings I can adjust to resolve the flickering while keeping hardware acceleration enabled?

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Updated Firefox to the latest version.

Updated my graphics drivers.

Cleared cache and cookies.

Hi! i opened youtube to watch some videos, but the audio wouldn't play. i checked the volume mixer and firefox isn't putting out any sound at all. I tried playing audio on other sites like netflix and tiktok, but the issue is the same there. it doesn't seem like firefox is registering that any audio is playing, as the little speaker icon does not show up when i hover over the tab. i thought it might have been an issue with my headset but the speakers won't play any sound either. i've tried running firefox in troubleshoot mode but that didn't do anything (i don't really know what to do in that mode, but hey, i figured i'd at least try) Also, i opened the same sites in microsoft edge, and they play the audio just fine. I'd rather not have to use edge for too long though, so any help is appreciated :)

I've recently done a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and have noticed that, only for Firefox (134.0.2, build ID 20250120135430), a few videos playback without any audio, yet the same videos play with audio when using edge as a comparison. Most (if not all) of these videos did play with audio in Firefox prior to this reinstall.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure this is not a windows sound mixer issue since many videos on the same page and tab play back with audio just fine in Firefox. The same goes for it not relating to the Firefox setting 'Speaker selection', under (burger) > settings > privacy & security > Permissions because videos of different formats (or using different players) on the same page play back audio fine. The tab is not muted. Again, some videos on the same browser tab play audio fine; some of a particular format or player only play the video, while missing the audio (and where Edge plays the same video with audio).

Another common and potentially relevant issue I've seen is that, this being a 'Windows 11 N" install, it was initially missing the settings > system > optional features > Media feature pack, but that is now something I've successfully added. I should add that windows did report problems when I initially tried to add the media feature pack but, after a very long delay, it eventually appeared to succeed when I ran a couple of DISM incantations that I think ended with - "dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0"

I have the 'Play DRM-controlled content' setting enabled.

Comparing the Firefox vs Edge video playback on this video test page - https://tools.woolyss.com/html5-audio-video-tester/ I get the following results (don't know how to get it formatted/aligned correctly, sorry) -

FF vid FF audio Edge vid Edge audio
av1-opus-sita.webm Works Works Works Works
vp9-vorbis-spring.webm Works Works Works Works
vp8-vorbis-sintel.webm Works Works Works Works
avc-aac-nerdist-friends.mp4 Works MISSING Works Works
avc-aac-big-buck-bunny.m4v Works MISSING Works Works
avc-mp3-sita.mov Works Works Works Works

And perhaps also relevant is that there's also a difference in the audio-only samples further down the table on the same page -

                   FF audio Edge audio
audio-sample.mp3 Works Works
audio-sample.weba Works Works
audio-sample.ogg Works Works
audio-sample.opus Works Works
audio-sample.flac Works Works
audio-sample.wav Works Works
audio-sample.m4a FAILS Works
ac192.mp3 Works Works
spoonradio-hd.aac FAILS Works
audio.opus Works Works

Also, every 'v.redd.it' / reddit-video-player video plays the video fine but has no sound when using Firefox but plays both sound and video fine with Edge. Here's one for example - https://old.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/1i7y1nr/rock_paper_scissors/

I've seen lots of similar (but not identical) issues on Firefox video with no audio problems with suggestions a few things to try. In addition to what I've already mentioned above, I've tried the following without success -

- Restarting Windows - Restarting Firefox - Restarting Firefox with addons/extensions disabled - 'about:support' > Refresh Firefox - 'about:support' > Clear startup cache - (hamburger) > more tools > task manager > (click the little profile icon for the page playing the video) - I've checked the settings suggested here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#w_check-some-firefox-settings

I realise it may be possible to side-step this problem by flailing around with more drastic work-arounds like trying a clean re-install of Windows or a full uninstall and clean of Firefox, but that doesn't really help figure out the problem, which leaves the possibility it could easily happen again to me or others when it might be something that can be more properly fixed or guarded against in Firefox itself, so I hope someone can suggest what might be done to home in on identifying the cause of the problem and so learn whether a more precise fix can be employed.

Hi there! Ever since I believe two days ago, playing videos in the Firefox browser have been giving me issues. Videos often end up looking scrambled/glitchy. It starts off mostly in green but sometimes turns multicolored, and the tab the video is in starts lagging or freezing. At first I thought it was a YouTube issue, but it's happening on other websites as well, even for animated gifs. I tested some videos in Edge, and so far I haven't had any glitchiness there yet.

I currently have Windows 11, and Firefox is up-to-date. I've attached screenshots from three different websites. Happy to provide other info if needed!

I got this new Chromebook, and now I'm having issues using YouTube. When I select a video to watch, a message pops up at the top saying "To play video, you may need to install the required video codecs." I am able to watch the video I selected anyhow, with some minor issues with the picture and its frames I believe, however, when I try to watch a different video, it does not work. Sometimes it will play for a short bit, but will then stop, and start buffering. When I then refresh the page, the video will not play and will only buffer. I am not sure what to do, and if this is an issue with the browser, or the device itself, please help?

however, after uninstalling quicktime, the browser plugin did not appear so it would not have worked anyway.

What solutions are there to this?

when accessing my voicemails for work, I need to access their online storage and listen from there. I used to use chrome and there were no issues. now, using firefox, I am being told to install Quicktime My understanding is that chrome uses NPAPI plugin. is there something similar on firefox?

In the last couple weeks i've encountered an issue where video footage, but not the audio or the video progress itself, will freeze if I tab out of Firefox and into a game window.

Here's a video showing the issue

Like shown in the video, It only seems to affect Firefox and not other browsers, and it only happens when I switch to a game window, not other tabs. It should also be noted that although the video only shows YouTube footage, this issue affects every player I've tested it on.

I've tried this both with and without extensions enabled, as well as just about every video player related config in the about:config page, and with both hardware acceleration on and off, still with no luck resolving the problem.

If anyone has had a similar issue and managed to fix it, help doing so for myself would be much appreciated.
