Hi, I've got some problems with firefox lately. Firstly I couldnt save my download. The map is bound to the default Downloads", however I can't change the map as the option is greyed out. Furthermore, changing the option to "ask where to save" doesn't help either. If I try to download something while the "ask where to save" option is chosen, nothing happens. No pop-up no error messages, nothing. I tried everything on the mozillazine site http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files, unfortunately to no avail. Then afterwards I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall. This didn't help my problem. It actually became worse as I tried to import my bookmarks. Pressing restore again did nothing. No pop-up no error messages. I tried pressing other random options like backup, import and export from html. All of these options do nothing as with the download.

Can anyone help me please?

Hello,

Unless you selected the "Remove my Firefox personal data" option when uninstalling, your profile folder was preserved. Does Firefox work correctly if you use the Reset feature?

If not, then other software on your computer may be preventing it from working properly. Does it work correctly when you start Windows in Safe Mode?

If Firefox works correctly in Windows Safe Mode, check your settings in your firewall and anti-virus. If you have rules set up for Firefox, removing them and recreating them manually may help.

map (en) = kaart (nl); map (nl) = folder (en)

Thanks a lot Gingerbread Man, I booted it up in safe mode and it worked. Then I replaced avast antivirus with MSE and it worked in normal mode as well. I can also change the folder ( :D ) now.
