What happened to link previews in Firefox 25.0.1?

Versions of Firefox previous to the current one (25.0.1 for Windows) displayed a pop-up of the url when you mouse-over a hyperlink in a webpage. This functionality appears to have disappeared (or been disabled) on my Windows 7 laptop, though it still works on my Win XP desktop (also version 25.0.1). How can I enable it on my laptop? I'd like to know where I'm about to be sent before I click an inexplicit hyperlink.

Thank you, Terry

Did you check the setting in the Status-4-Evar 2013.10.31.22 extension for those link preview pop-ups?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

If you have Google toolbar installed, try disable it.(Add-ons-Extensions)

It appears that the "show links in" setting in Status4Evar got changed in the course of updating. Setting it to "in pop-ups" fixed the problem.
