hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware/adware on your pc. please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like adwcleaner.

The "This sounds like..." gives away that the writer doesn't know, therefore isn't actually being helpful. This program MUST exist, MUST be loaded either when Firefox is started, or, when the computer is started (SEE. I don't know either). What is wanted is a REMOVAL utility - clearly. So why doesn't Firefox help, after all, you want us to use your Browser, your advert providers want is to use your Browser, we want to use your browser, so why don't you support it's use? since neither the original question owner nor you have provided any information about the configuration about your firefox or the installed extensions (accessible through firefox > help > troubleshooting information) i can only provide general advice - why would you consider this as not helpful?

Because you are answering a question with another question. As most know, you are just fishing for an endless supply of things that the original writer probably doesn't know anyway. You are not being helpful, you are just stringing out the conversation. Want to know how irritating this can be? Just watch politicians doing EXACTLY that when asked a question on television! The endless NOT answering makes for time wasting. You don't know, so stop pretending. There is a commonality about this particular irritant which allows it to pick up the name from any site visited and insert it into it's psuedo 'Survey'. I don't have the answer any more than you do, but i'm not pretending that I have any solution - I don't.. Neither do you.

I forgot to add that - again - Firefox are pretty useless at answering queries of the kind posed, as most discover when posing questions. Answers usually contain a huge amount of useless and pointless waffle before getting to the point. Or you usually have to mine some long and complicated answer in order to find what you want. Succinct and to the point they are not. That is, when they deign to reply anyway, which isn't often.

i can only repeat myself - such issues are usually caused by malicious extensions. since you haven't provided any details about your configuration despite having been expressedly asked for that (which is in your mind just stringing out the conversation but in fact is a basic troubleshooting step in order to diagnose the issue), it is impossible to give you a spot-on solution - it isn't even clear what the problem is yet!

If using windows, go to tools, internet options and reset the applications. This took care of mine, and I'm sure it won't interrupt mozilla or chrome etc. Good Luck!

From the Firefox menu, (top left) select Tools > Add-ons > in the left panel select Extensions, I the selected something I never installed called Yontoo so I highlighted and removed, then restart Firefox. Problem solved.

The other guy's advice was kind of right, you have to do a bit of research yourself if you want to solve PC problems without paying , Mozilla are excellent, but don't have the resources of c**ts like Microsoft.
