As it happesn it was real player you tube seems to be working now
We are glad to hear you solved it.
I have the same problem ever since my Firefox updated to 13.0. I cannot play videos on YouTube, or anywhere else, for that matter! I've already Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, to no avail. Can't this be fixed???!!!???
Did you try the real player thing?
I did just a moment ago and that did work - thank you! >Relief!<
after the real player settings changes my YouTube is working again thanks
what were the changes you made to realplayer to fix the video problem? thanks email@example.com
I found AVG SiteSafety had somehow installed itself as a plugin. I am running Norton, so I disabled AVG. Everything is back to normal. Before finding and disabling AVG I had tried every solution suggested on this site. I even uninstalled Firefox and started over. I am puzzled where AVG was lurking during my removal and reinstall of Firefox. All is well that ends well, but it has been a frustrating 2 weeks.
Turn off Web Download & Recording in RealPlayer
- Launch RealPlayer
- Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences.
- Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel
- Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers"
- Click OK and close RealPlayer
- Restart Firefox
I have tried today something very simple and it worked:
- 1. Open Firefox
- 2. Go to top left and click on Firefox tab...then "options"...then again "Options" (Now you have the Options Menu with many tabs...)
- 3. Choose the "Applications" tab
- 4. scroll it down till you find "RealAudio/RealVideo" and...
- 5. set the action to use RealPlayer (default)
I hope it will work with you too

Now why the hell would I need to install and run 'Realplayer' to watch Youtube videos?
Realplayer has pissed me off many times in the past. Why is this a necessity now in order to use Firefox?
Do I need to change browser now?
This is not about installing RealPlayer, but about disabling the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox if you have RealPlayer installed.
If you do not have RealPlayer installed then those instructions do not apply to you.

Thank you cor-el.
I did find the answer to my issue. Had to uninstall Ad Block, then reinstall it. All works as it should now. :)
I am really disgusted with these suggestion that Real Player or Adobe flash player itself is at fault. I am even more disgusted that no one from Firefox never suggested one thing that is most likely at fault for YouTube videos not playing in Firefox: '''''''''''''Do you have plugin called Ad Block installed? Try disabling the Ad Block for entire You Tube page and your videos will play.'''''''''''''
