If I click OK the appears again, and again and again. No matter how much I click OK or try to Exit the window it just will not go away.

The window says, The intruction at "0x1fb37800" referenced memory at "0x1fb37800". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program"

Please somebody kindly help me.

Hi,

Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is okay, you can later copy the needed personal data from the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in another location (profile folder) separate from its files/folder. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings (Tools (Alt + T) > Options, and about:config ), and usually would also be empty of any Extensions and themes (Appearance) in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. Also, a new profile would have no previous stored website data/settings etc., (Tools > Clear Recent History).

Hi Vivek,

I've had a system restore. And it seems that the problem occurs after installing Emsisoft Antimalware. I think now you can help me particularly.

Hi ams963,

If the problem occurred only after installing Emsisoft, you can try to change settings and trust/exclude Firefox and its files/processes/addons etc. Please see this. You can also try to temporarily turn off (deselect) for a few seconds the different modules of Emsisoft starting with the Surf Protection and check the error on Firefox exit.

Hi Vivek,

Excluding Firefox from Emsisoft Antimalware or temporarily turning off it's shields does nothing to stop the Application Error window from appearing.

I've attached a screenshot of the error window with this reply so that you can take a better glimpse at the problem.

Hi ams963,

Please also try a new profile. If the problem persists and you are sure its being caused by Emsisoft, please contact support.

Hi Vivek,

I've tried a new profile. But the problem still persists. Although I'm not sure if Emsisoft Antimalware is the cause but only that the problem appears after installing it, I've contacted Emsisoft support anyways.

But do inform me if you find anything on this issue.

Best Wishes, ams963

Hi again,

Sure will inform you. In the meantime if you find a successful resolution please do post it. It would be very helpful.

You can also try to install Firefox on top of the current installation and if Emsisoft comes up with any messages, you can try to accept them all. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Please also see backup. You can also try to test if the error occurs in Windows Safe Mode.
