I think your problem may relate to how your Windows XP Operating System is set up.

You may wish to set Internet Explorer as your default browser IIRC this can be done from the menu you obtain from The windows XP start button. You can probably also do it from Internet Explorer itself. (My Windows XP computer is not working at present so I can not quickly verify this).
