Ive been blocking cookies/sites using the exceptions function but using 'block' rather than just listing them in the exemptions list. Im using an older computer and have a fairly good sized list of all the usual sites that use cookies for marketing and I find it works really well, keeping my computer running reasonably fast and lessening the need for active antispyware etc. One thing thats really frustrating is that the list keeps getting deleted, I guess from using the clear history function as mentioned elsewhere, and the other is that I cant import a list (to my knowledge) without typing every site address one at a time and then pressing block for each individual site. (I have a list Ive saved to notepad and cut and paste each line individually) Surely there must be some way of deleting the cookie history without deleting the ones pre-loaded in the block list? And is there a way if this is not possible to import a pre-made list in its entirety without having to sit for ages typing or copying one line at a time to then have to block each one? Many thanx, Mark

Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

To create a blocklist more easily, there are many extensions to manage cookies, this for instance CS lite mod allows to set cookie permissions on a per-site basis, making the job of setting cookie exceptions a lot easier than using the native cookie manger-or a context menu can be added to this one with CookieMan Context .
