The website is a wordpress site. All other browsers display the site correctly in English. The url below is a dev site.

Are you redirected to another site or do you still have the correct URL and is it only the text that changes?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I tried removing cookies and clear cache and then resorted to uninstalling FF and removing all files along with the uninstall. Downloaded a fresh copy of the latest FF, installed and the same thing happens only on this one Wordpress site with this theme.

If I uninstall the theme the site goes back to all english.

But it's only this WP site in FF not in other browsers. I have even triple checked the language setting for FF and it is en or en-us.

I do not know what else to try or where to look for a corrupt file or bug.

I would appreciate any other suggestions. I loved using FF but will now switch to a different browser and not come back unless I can remove the corrupt file or setting.

Does that still happen if you choose another default font?

As a test you can try to disable the website fonts and try some different default fonts like Arial or Verdana.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

Thanks Cor-el, it appears to be a font issue. If I disallow pages to choose their own fonts the problem goes away.

Therefor I assume the fonts the website is calling are not working with this version of FF. The website is using google fonts merriweather and yanone. Which I also have installed on my computer.

Is there something I should be doing to allow the google fonts to work properly with FF?

I'm on a Windows XP machine and FF is the only browser with this issue.

Thank you for you time.
