I wanat to get rid of the firefox ads that appear on my screen at start-up, and remain there. I want to get rid of ads, not have more show up from firefox!
I have been requesting help for this for the past HOUR. Firefox is placing ads on my screen at start-up (and they remain there) to get firefox on Android (I don't have a cell phone that uses it), and to go to the firefox site with information on how to use..........I have used firefox for years.........don't need this, and when I go there since it seems to be forced on me, read what is new, and try to close out...........it is back again when I open firefox again. If I keep getting ads from firefox, I will change to another browser!

Firefox 4+ versions use a new build-in home page named about:home with a Google search bar on it (no internet access needed to load that page).
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.
If you want a home page without the Restore Previous Session button and the snippets then set another page as the home page like www.google.com used in Firefox 3 versions.
You may be seeing a similar ad on the Google site to install Google Chrome.
In that case use the close X on that ad to close that pop-up and it should stay away unless local storage gets cleared.
I was trying to only have Firefox as the home page, and not Google....with their new lack of privacy with no opt outs I'm going to change email address soon.
