Firefox crashes
Hi there,
my firefox stopped working sometime in spring this year (2011) after i have installed a windows update. I tried to uninstall and clean up (profile directories/registry) every time a new version was launched. Now i have FF 7.0.1 installed and it still crashes directly after the start. Same behavior in safe-mode and when i try to start the ProfileManager. I am forced to use Google Chrome now...

upgrade your browser to Firefox 8 and check
Hi Swarnava,
thank you very much for your answer. I have uninstalled my FireFox 7, removed my profile directory and then installed FF8. That one does not even start, the firefox.exe process just dies...
Any other idea? - Thank you very much in advance for your help!
Do you have new crash report? If yes please post crash id here
Hi Swarnava,
thank you again for taking care on this problem! No, unfortunately i have no no crash report. :-( When i start firefox i can see the process in the taskmanager for a few seconds and it then just disappears in complete silence:
- No crashdump
- No System event
- Nothing printed to stdout/stderr
Just like the "Hello World" program, but without the "Hello World" message... Is there anything i can do to collect more information? Thank you very much in advance for your help!
Modified
Hi Swarnava,
thank you again for answering my mail.
There is no firefox.exe process running when i try to start firefox. Also the dialog-box, stating that the already running ff-instance is not responding does not appear.
