using Firefox 7.0.1 with XP, when I try to open my contacts address box to forward an email on yahoo, the screen gets foggy & locks up

Updated Adobe Reader, Java Flash, and on & on per Firefox update checker, to no avail. Changed settings in FF options to allow popups, cookies, etc at yahoo & yahoo mail... no love there either. What am I missing (besides my mind)? Thanks.
