Why does my browser and any video i watch stop when i stop moving my mouse cursor?

I noticed when i downloaded the new version of firefox that my web browser and any video i watch doesnt begin to move until i move my mouse cursor somewhere on my computer screen. this also goes for downloads. Its like my web browser doesnt begin working unless my mouse is moving. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
