Since the recent Firefox update my Facebook page is distorted and rearranged, I've tried all possible solutions and ready to switch to safari!

Since Firefox's recent update, my FB page is off center and rearranged awkwardly. On Safari and Chrome this doesn't happen so I'm certain it's FF. I've tried clearing the cache, reseting the page in safe mode, checking page style etc etc and nothing has changed.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:

If you are not on Ma then see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences

  • Windows: Firefox (Tools) > Options
  • Mac: Firefox > Preferences
  • Linux: Edit > Preferences

Changing font sizes or allowing pages to choose their own does not solve this issue. there is only one column on my facebook page. this does not happen on other browsers only on firefox since i updated to firefox 6.

It happens in other Firefox versions as well if you increase the minimum font size above 13 or 14. They may be using a margin or padding that is set to a value in 'em' (I haven't checked that).

The problem is that I have ALWAYS had a large font size and was able to view FB without issue until a week ago. I do not elect to have automatic updates installed for Firefox. However, I did notice that new add-ins were installed. However, when I disabled/uninstalled the add-ins my FB page did not return to normal. This is very aggravating...

This is not a font size problem, but seems to have something to do with FF6 altering its relationship to Java

I solved it by totally uninstalling FF and then deleting all files and folders connected to FF and then cleared registry of all FF references Reinstalled FF 6.01 and ran restore using Mozbackup
