Cannot sign in to hotmail after playing with and deleting cookies

Ever since i got Firefox 4 and 5 i've been encountering problems/challenges. A couple of days ago i deleted many cookies and then changed the cookies settings in the History in the Privacy tab in the Options. Now i cannot sign in into my Hotmail account. I keep getting this message: 

   This site may be experiencing a problem
   The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network

You can: 

   You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site.

I tried to change the accepting cookies setting ("Keep until") to: 'ask me every time' and then i almost could not stop a Facebook cookies warning. I changes 'Keep until' back to 'they expire'. I have no problem signing in via IE from this same laptop.
