I can't open version 4 of Firefox despite restarting several times. Why?

I was installing Firefox updates when Firefox asked me if I wanted to download and install Version 4. I downloaded the file, saved it and ran it. Each time I try to open Firefox it says: Your computer needs to be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now? After rebooting several times, the problem is still there.
