Firefox doesn't continue opening in one user account. I have four users using in the computer and firefox works okay with all the 3. It just states that loading has stopped.

As it is only a problem for one user, there is likely to be a problem with the profile folder for that user. The profile folder is where user data is stored.

Try creating a new profile for that user, for details of how to do that see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows

If the new profile works, you can selectively copy user data such as bookmarks and passwords to the new profile. For details of the files to copy see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile

Just a quick comment:

See firefox hangs and work from the problem 4th user account when trying to sort out the issue. (If you continue having problems please say which XP edition it is Home or Pro ?)

Thank you john99. I will try it out. I'm thinking it might be a virus problem. By the way, I use Window Vista home edition.

  • Are you writing these messages from another machine ?
  • What is the exact message, can you state the wording, or provide a screenshot ?
  • Has Firefox worked previously in this problem 4th account ?

The system information displaying with your message suggests that you are using Windows XP and Firefox 3.6.15. The information provided under system information sometimes gives clues as to what the cause of problems is.

Yes I wrote the message from a different machine running windows xp pro the last time. Im now using the machine with vista but can only surf using google chrome. Mozilla still doesnt work for this user. Firefox worked before. I even tried to uninstall and install mozilla but still have same problem. My last option is just to use recovery cd to clean it in case laptop is infected with virus.
