Flash shows as being installed but is not (according to Adobe)
I want to view content using Flash. After manual install of Flash and also trying to install directly - nothing works. The Mozilla site indicates I should get a yellow bar asking to install but this does not appear. The plug Ins page shows I have no plug ins active. Add Ons show I have Shockwave Flash 10.1.82.76. I am running Firefox 3.6.9.

To be sure that Adobe Flash has been installed successful, try to install it again (you can get it here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) .
After installing it, close Firefox and try again, if it still doesn't work try rebooting your computer. That should solve your issues.
Hi, Thanks - but did not help still have the same issue. AddIn for Shockwave is enabled but no Flash Plugin. Looks like IE will need to be my browser.. :-(
You might want to update/install the latest Flash in IE as well. I remember several months ago when I finished updating my Flash, Firefox still asked me to update it. Then I opened IE and update Flash there also. After that, my Flash plug-in worked in Firefox.
And to ensure you have the latest versions of Flash and they were updated successfully, go to this website and check:
You didn't post a plugins list in your above posted Troubleshooting Information list.
Do you see the Flash plugin on the about:plugins page and in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins ?
Delete the file pluginreg.dat and let Firefox rebuild a new version.
Hi, I attach a pic of the flash plugin shown.
I do not see the file plugins.dat, the closest file is plugin-container.exe.
That screenshot shows that you have the Flash plugin.
Does the Adobe Flash Players Test Page confirm that?
No The Adobe site shows that it is not installed - that is the strange thing.
