When I created an app tab and restart firefox, the app tab is gone. Is there a way to make it a permanent tab when I restart firefox?

I successfully made facebook an "app tab." I closed firefox and reopened it later and the app tab disappeared. Is there a way to make it permanent?

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I restarted firefox.

I also set up app tabs and when I restart Firefox I have to set them up again.

This will be fixed in beta 3, which is scheduled for release on 6th August.

Actually, Quarantine, I don't think this will be fixed in beta 3. The bug hasn't landed it, and I'm testing beta4pre and it still isn't fixed. In any case, everyone, this is a work in progress, and it will be fixed in the final release, rest assured.

I use the nightly builds, and app tabs have been persistent across sessions for about 2 weeks.

There are other features of app tabs that are still being worked on.

Edit: Apologies but there was some confusion on my part. I thought you was talking about App Tabs being restored as part of Session restore which has been fixed.

Re-reading this it appears you mean app tabs being restored independently from sessions. That bug is being worked on but no date has been set for it to be fixed other than targeted to be fixed during the beta stage.

Note that Firefox 4 beta 4 is due for release on the 23rd, but this will not include the fix. Firefox 4 beta 4 is based on the code for the development builds as of 17th August. The fix for this bug that was added on the 21st is due to appear in beta 5 which will be released about a couple of weeks after beta 4.

Apparently nothing has been fixed regarding this bug, as it's happening to me, and according to this site at least 70 other people this week alone...guess we just have to chalk it up to a failure and go back to using bookmarks....

I just noticed this problem, myself. Very frustrating as I had a bunch of tabs. Now I have to do them all over again.

The only thing I can think of doing is have Firefox set to open the tabs you had open the previous session.

On Mac OS X 10.6.7 I also set up app tabs and when I restart Firefox I have to set them up again. But this does not happen when using Windows Xp.

It is still an issue in the final release. I found this answer in another post and it resolves the app tab issue. It's a bit silly though that you can't clear your history but keep your app tabs.

Make sure that you do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Browsing History" if Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
