I experience strange things with Firefox and Flash. Youtube Videos will not be recognized properly and I have to click the play button not once but a couple of times (up to 10 times) until the button gets triggered. Even worse with camera-recognition (for example on Facebook when you want to take a photo with your webcam): the question if I want to allow access to the camera pops up but I can not click anything. It just does not react at all. I already restarted in safe-mode with all add-ons enabled and it did not help...

Same problem here. Got FF 3.6.7 and updated the Flash Player as per recommendation to 10.1.53.64 Now I see a white area wherever there are videos to be viewed.

I also got this error when I opened the Firefox add-ons page: "An error occurred during a connection to services.addons.mozilla.org:443. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)"

Also upgraded the Acrobat Reader 9.3.3.177 and that seems to be working fine. Only the flash player is giving me problems

A similar issue here, any streaming sites since the intro of the plugin container streaming is jumpy at best, when I have never had issues even streaming in HD.

I have used Firefox since its early days, 1.5 long before most people around me knew what it was or the issue of Explorer. But over the last while the container has ruined my enjoyment of the net to the point that I am switching to Chrome as of the end of this post.

I'm experiencing the same issue on Win7 64 and OSX 10.6.4

In firefox 3.6.6 and 3.6.7, flash content has very poor performance. Both computers are multi cored with 4GB+ RAM each. I'll happily give dxdiag, msinfo, or sys profiler info if helpful.

I have been using some test swfs, and in other browsers(chrome, safari) using the same flash 10.1.5 or the beta 10.1.8, firefox gets 1/3 of the frames per second.

Safari, Chrome both play at 30+ frames per second. Firefox plays at 4-10 frames per second and is unresponsive to mouse clicks.

The swfs are not doing anything crazy(like glow). It's just ~20 tiles that move down the canvas. The low frame rate/performance of Firefox 3.6.7 makes the play back stutter and choppy so it's visually noticable(without the frame rate counter).

Firefox 3.5.10 works with flash as does Firefox 4 beta 1.

Apparently this is a known issue as that's what it says in the release notes....however it happens on all computers. Even one running i7 processor.

So they (@ Mozilla) know what and how to solve, see 4 beta. Have you tried the new 3.6.8 yet?

Hi,

I have fixed the problem by downgrading the recent flash to older version.

I have uploaded the file including the uninstaller and the installer v10.0.32.18 It's work fine now... Tested with SL 10.6.4 FF 3.6.8 http://rapidshare.com/files/409059458/Flash_Fix.zip

SAme problem, sound, no visual. Everything works fine in Chrome, but not Safari or Firefox. So, I don't know what to figure, only that I'm sure Mozilla would like to have it working on their browser!

@ Anonymous: not working here. I dled your FlashFix.zip, closed all browsers, uninstalled, installed the 10.0.32.18, reopened FF 3.6.8 (SL 10.6.4). On YouTube it says "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. ", on cnn.com "This CNN feature is optimized for Adobe Flash Player version 9 and higher". Well I just installed 10.0.32.18, and according to mathematics .. :-| ..

How about the rest of you out there - could you guys please give some feedback?

PS: I checked the version of the PlugIn, it definitely is 10.0.32.18

I modded the most current Flash Player Plugin 10.1.53.64 for Mac OS X to work with Firefox 3.6.x and created a Installer for your convenience, based on a simple Unix bash script for Terminal.

Flash Player PlugIn 10.1.53.64/ 10.0.45.2 OS X Community Mod Installer (6.2MB).

The Disk Image you download contains a ReadMe which I urge you to read.

Happy video viewing in Firefox 3.6.x :)!

I have the same problem with flash vids in mozilla on both my mac and pc (both fairly new). I've been using IE or chrome until mozilla fixes this, which hopefully will be soon or I'll become a permanent chrome user.

I Have this problem too, and dont work any solution even using the unnistaller from adobe site.

FF3.6.8 MacOSX 10.6.4 Flash 10.0 - 10.1

more options

My solution most likely only works if you install ontop of an existing 10.1 Flash Plugin. That's why I did not say anything about any uninstall neither here nor in the readme.

Have you tried my file? Do you get any error message? After install please go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about - which version is displayed?

Above link has expired (did not know RS links expire after 10 dlds), so here's a new one: http://www.multiupload.com/E40UDJDRRJ

here's a installer with above mod (flat package installer): http://mir.cr/HNRGXLY5

working much better than the Unix bash installer script above. Contained files are the same. READ INCLUDED README:txt !
