And you have the latest Flash plugin, right? http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/

What extensions do you use? Try starting up Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode and see if that works. If it does, try enabling your extensions a few at a time and figure out which extension is causing the problem.

At the time using: Download Helper, Facebook Toolbar and Lazarus Form Recovery.

Thanks for the tip. I will see if it works.

I am trying to play a game and it keeps saying the plug in crashed. But when I play other games it is fine. I tried Safe Mode and same thing happens.

I ended up doing a system restore and that solved the problem for now. But the funny thing is, I only got the crash message while using Firefox. Internet Explorer worked just fine.

Win XP sp3 Same problem! Example - youtube. It does not crash, but the streaming is full of glitches, pauses... I see that the v3.6.4 is buffering faster, but what use if I can't play back normally what's been buffered. All the plug ins are up to date!

Internet explorer and Firefox using different versions of the plugins. Just because the ActiveX version work in IE, its not used in Firefox.

Please try using the most recent version of flash for Firefox, it has security fixes and fixes for many crashes according to Adobe. The latest release is 10.1.53.64.

Had the same problem, but with Social City on Facebook. I updated all my plugins (including Acrobat Reader, but for some reason http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ kept on telling me that there was a problem with that plugin, even after updating).

Currently using the latest Flash plugin (10.1 version, as of 24th June 2010). Social City crashes intermittently (usually when I switch districts). I also posted to the Playdom support forum regarding this...

This only seems to have started occurring since I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.4 (this morning). Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that it doesn't crash Firefox completely now, but it just seems that Flash is crashing a lot more since the upgrade of Firefox.

I forgot to mention I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3, on a PC with 1G of memory.

I have similar/same problem here: after firefox 3.6.4 and flash player 10.1.53 update, sites containing flash freezes firefox (UI). If I swith to another window in vista (32bit) and then back to firefox, I sometimes got my firefox UI back and I can close the tab containing the flash site and than everything goes back to normal.

Maybe it's a flash player bug, because not all flash content kill my firefox as I see.

Oh sorry, a better topic for my problem:

I seem to have found a workaround that works for me with my Social City crash...

I went and installed Google Chrome and Social City seemed to work without any crashes.

This does seem to indicate that the issue is in Firefox, and not Flash... The CPU usage of Social City (constant 100%) looks bad in both Firefox and Chrome (but this is either down to the game itself or Flash).

I have a fear that this is what happens when you rush out new functionality in a maintenance release - maybe this new plugin model should have been tested more and scheduled for 3.7 instead... Just my 2 cents
