It's Pac-Man's 30th Birthday today, and Google's homepage is a playable Pac-Man game around the Google logo. My boyfriend had the same problem, then I went to Google and was like Hey, it's Pac-Man! And then the siren started. He plays fine on my laptop, but for some reason the music is stuck on his computer.
All you have to do is disable the "Cool Previews" add on for firefox. Go to the "Tools" link at the top of the browser, go down to "Add Ons", go to the "Cool Previews", click "Disable". Then restart firefox and it should be fine!

I've got this problem too, any solution?
That worked a treat, thanks Sheila. To think i used to like Pac-man, and now it is just annoying, i can se why my parents used to shout!
Firefox 4, MacOSX 10.6.7 ...I don't have a "Cool Previews" add-on. But I'm getting the odd and annoying noises whenever I visit or reload iGoogle - http://www.google.com/ig - which is my usual home page. Any other hints?
(It annoys mi esposa enough that I must either mute my laptop - not desired - or use another browser for awhile, until the problem is resolved!)
Modified
Resolved. Culprit? Autofill add-on. Debugged by disabling all add-ons, then enabling one by one until the symptom recurred. I've removed Autofill. Grrr...
