Since the new updates the shortcut to add a new tab is gone - how do I get that back. Also i can no longer download my videos from facebook to upload to youtube - can that be fixed as well?

Show the issue. What version are your running? What OS?
iOS Sonoma 14.6.1 Mozilla 132.0.2
the "+" for add a new tab is gone
Go to menu ≡ -> More tools -> Customize toolbar…, then click the Restore defaults button.
Under menu and more tools this what I get - I dont have a restore defaults
But you have Customize toolbar.....
That worked - the add tab was not with the rest, maybe because I searched for it - but I have it now - thank you very much!
