Bookmark folders

I have created a number of folders for bookmarks and clicking on the folder used to produce a long list for each. Now, possibly since the latest update, the list is abbreviated and doesn't show bookmarks that, if I open in a tab and click "edit", are shown as being in the folder. The only forum article I have seen on the topic seems far too complicated for me to understand.

I have now discovered that, by dragging my Boolmarks Menu to the taskbar, I can see all the bookmarks without any shortening of the list. Norjean
