I had an issue where when I tried to open firefox I received an error that said ""A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time". After looking at some other support articles I came across this article that appeared to fix the issue after entering a command in terminal https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1254772, and I guess I deleted the wrong version because after being able to reopen my browser I had none of my saved bookmarks, extensions, history, or any other account info.

Is there any way I can recover my lost browser info or am I just completely SOL?

If the profile you are using does not have your data, then the data must be in the other. Can you try restoring the deleted folder from the recycle/trash folder?

Please describe in detail what it is you did.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar. How many profiles are listed? How many should be there? Also, open the profile folder in your file explorer.

I followed what the person in the linked post did, so I went into terminal entered this command "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P". After pulling that info up, I saw two profiles, selected one of them, and deleted one of them fully.

I'm about 90% sure that I deleted the profile that had my profile and browsing data. Don't think there's a good chance there's nothing I can do to solve this, but if there are any work arounds to recover my info it'd be a lifesaver.

You shouldn't have used the Profile Manager to remove a profile. This is merely meant to select another profile to see if that profile works as a troubleshooting step.

If you use the Time Machine or other backup (recycle bin) then try to restore this deleted profile from this backup.

Looks like the profile itself never was deleted on my desktop, but it just wasn't automatically included once i was able to reboot firefox after troubleshooting. Couldn't find any of the profiles in the trash, but after searching through finder I was able to find the folder that had my profile under Library -> application support -> Firefox -> profiles. I then uploaded the profile in firefox in about:profiles and reinstalled it from there.

Thanks for the help!!
