Is there a maximum number of bookmarks that can be synchronised? In the past (I don't know exactly when) there was a limit of about 5000 bookmarks. I have the impression that this limit has now been dropped and all bookmarks are synchronised. Is that right?

As far as a hard number of bookmarks, many users have mentioned over 2000 bookmarks. The bookmarks and history are stored in the SQLite database named places.sqlite. As a database can grow as much as required, I don't think that there is really any limit.

The problem with the large number of bookmarks does not concern saving but synchronising, especially with Android devices. This often didn't work in the past.
Lately - several Firefox updates later - I have the impression that something has changed and that ALL bookmarks are now synchronised (temporarily about 10,000 for me). That would be great!
Does anyone know more about this?

To briefly sum it up, if you have over 5000 bookmarks it is best not to sync because that's the limit and Sync is not particularly good at handling large number of changes in Bookmarks either. Personally I suggest it is even more important to backup bookmarks manually if you opt for Sync of bookmarks.

It will only take a lot more time for the initial sync if you have a lot of bookmarks as uploading is done in small chunks.
