bookmarks in folders take up too much space now

Since the new fancy mozilla update, bookmarks in folders take up 2 if not 3 times as much space, making navigation in folders unnecessarily time consuming, since now you have to scroll to access bookmarks, whereas before you would have them all in one click of the folder. Any way to fix this?

Come on peeps...this is for children - where are the OPTIONS for this Bookmark Spacing issues - vertical and horizontal - WAY TOO MUCH SPACING which takes up too much valuable real estate - because as a Business owner I have hundreds - actually thousands and this adds too much time for the SEARCH and Scrolling to get to what I'm looking for. Not to say, forcing folders off of the top Bookmarks Bar to the double-arrow down vertical view.

PLEASE provide an option, or provide a BABY look [now your current] and a BIZ Look [way less spacing and smaller folders, etc.. Or just Cj=hange back to the LESS SPACE look.

We can't believe anyone actually complain about the folders, bookmarks being too close. Don't change if Not Broke.

This wider menu item spacing is a feature of the Firefox 89 "Proton" redesign. I can give you a quick short-term workaround, but a more durable solution will require more work.

Temporary Fix

For testing purposes, the developers left a preference in Firefox 89 to switch between new style and old style menus:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to switch between true (new style) and false (old style)

Some menus may be cut off or sized incorrectly after this change until the next time you do a normal exit/restart of Firefox.

Longer Term Community Workaround

This involves setting up a userChrome.css file. The full instructions are in the following thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1337841
