How does one get rid of this awful new Print layout module?

more options

I realize Firefox is free, so I should not complain, but why oh why has Mozilla changed the Firefox print interface in Version 86? Print Preview has gone. The controls are on the wrong side. It now resembles Google Chrome, which is just horrendous! Half the options are hidden so it takes twice as long to do what one wants to do. The interface is much more clumsy. I could go on. How do I reverse this? I cannot work with it! I uninstalled v86 and installed v85, and the horrendous print layout is still there!! Thanks in advance

And why is Firefox feebback page no longer working?

1. Accept the risk. Then type print.tab_modal.enabled in the Find bar on top of the page, then dbl click found pref to change the value to false. 2. No, they not going to change it and eventually the old interface will be removed at all.

Try to enter about:config in the URL bar and set print.tab_modal.enabled = false.

Thank you, TyDraniu, but when I type about:config, I get a message "Proceed with Caution - Changing advanced configuration preferences can impact Firefox performance or security.... Accept the Risk & Continue" Please can you advise in more detail how to proceed. I don't understand the risks or know what to do next.

Furthermore, if your suggestion does indeed reverse the new Print Dialogue, why do you think Mozilla did not make it easy to handle this change and include an either or option button under Options | Home?

Thank you very much TyDraniu. Works like a charm!! Much appreciated. I see you are a top 25 contributor. I don't know whether you have any influence with the Mozilla team, but if you do, please, please, please ask them to retain the old Prnt Preview option! Cheers Brox

Hi Brox, the developers are still making tweaks to the new print experience before removing the old one, so it's not too late to give specific feedback.

The controls are on the wrong side.

The controls are on the right side instead of the top. Why do you say that's the wrong side?

Half the options are hidden so it takes twice as long to do what one wants to do.

Starting in Firefox 87, once you open "More settings" it will stay open for subsequent print jobs until you close it. That will save a click.

The interface is much more clumsy.

Which parts did you find more clumsy?

I could go on.
