I've recently noticed an issue with Firefox not loading some content for me. On one page it failed to load embedded videos, and when I contacted the site to alert them to the problem they troubleshooted and the issue seemed to be with my browser. A second time, when trying to use Instagram scheduler Planoly, I discovered that none of the images of my feed would display in the program, and again when I contacted support they could find no issue at their end.

I have followed advice and: - cleared my cache and cookies - disabled extensions one by one - scanned my machine for malware.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Hi cor-el, thanks for getting back to me. Here's a link to the site in question: Heritage Craft Association. On this page I'm having trouble seeing any of the videos listed under 'Previous Events'. Firefox does show a purple shield when I'm on that page but disabling it doesn't appear to make a difference.

Hi cor-el, thanks for getting back to me. This is one of the pages I'm having trouble with Heritage Craft Association. When I'm on this page I can't see any of the content listed under 'Previous Events'. It does flag up a purple shield for me but when Enhanced Tracking Protection is disabled it doesn't appear to change whether the content is visible or not. I've checked and my extensions appear to be up to date and not blocking content.

I'll try restarting Firefox in safe mode as your last link suggests, but if you have any further ideas I'd be very grateful.

I've just restarted in safe mode and it seems the Facebook container is the culprit. I'm not sure why this didn't flag up before but many thanks for your help!

Yes, when I check that content under 'Previous Events' in the Inspector then this is all coming from Facebook or its CDN server (fbcdn.net) and if you use the Facebook Container extension to restrict Facebook content then content from Facebook embedded on a page can only appear in the Facebook container. That is the disadvantage of using an extension that restricts FB related content. This is mentioned in the description of the Facebook Container extension.
