I'm trying to resurrect a feature from the good old Tab Utilities days. Is there any addon or about:config setting that will let new tabs from links retain the history from the parent tab?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Let's say I'm in tab 1 and it has some "Back button" history. Then I open a link in the page in tab 1 in new tab 2. You want tab 2 to have the same Back button history as if you had opened the link in tab 1?

I can't think of a way to do that, exactly. I think the closest thing would be to duplicate tab 1 to a new tab 2 before opening the link (for example, right-click the tab for tab 1 on the tab bar, then click Duplicate Tab).
