I have followed the above instructions, changed the read only box, nothing. Finally I deleted all the Mozilla files in my User account, uninstalled Firefox for the 2nd time, downloaded, still getting the same message! Help!

I have followed your first link (I'm using a Windows PC operating under Windows 7) and it was very helpful. I removed the "Read Only" tag for all subfolders and files under the existing profile, so apparently I need to set up a new profile for Firefox to access on start up. The article showed me how to find my (default) profile, and how to copy the files, but, I do not see how to actually create a profile that Firefox will access on startup. There is obviously a problem with my current profile, since I keep receiving the "Firefox already running, but it is not responding..." message, but, the article does not explain how I create a new profile (i.e. what name do I give it?; how does Firefox know to access the new profile on start up and not the old one, etc.). Is there any information that can explain these questions?
Thank you!
