This issue just randomly started; I don't remember Firefox doing an update. I've tried to navigate through some of the menus but it isn't responding as one would hope.

This is on a new MacBook that's less than a month old, so it's a fairly new install.

Anyone have any ideas?

Alright, so I deleted some hidden folders and files and now it appears the Firefox is working again. Those include:

  • ~/Library/Caches/Firefox
  • ~/Library/Caches/Mozilla
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla
  • ~/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist

This continues to happen and I've narrowed it down to deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox folder which resets all settings and then it begins working again, but obviously this isn't ideal.

I've removed all of my extensions from a different computer in hopes that it would sync those changes and maybe fix this, but it hasn't. Unfortunately, with no help, I'm going to have to switch back to Chrome as I can't continually erase all of my Firefox settings every few days. I hope somehow this can get figured out so I can switch back!
