Firefox won't let me install F.B. Purity but it works with other browsers.

I'm trying to add the F.B. Purity extension but I get a "connection failure" message. When I use different browsers, it works fine. Lately FF has become more troublesome, not allowing videos or even showing some pictures. Very frustrating.

Directly installing isn't side-loading, so that change doesn't apply if you are going to this page --

https://www.fbpurity.com/install.htm

-- and clicking the green button.

Is the connection failure before the first drop-down panel, or between the first and second drop-down panels?

Did you try the workaround suggested on the page for that?

Please note: If you get a "Connection failure" error when trying to install FBP, try this: "Right-click" on the "Install F.B. Purity" button and then click "Save link as" then save the .xpi extension to your computer. Next drag the .xpi file from the saved location into Firefox's "about:addons" Extensions management page.

That should, after a brief delay, trigger the second drop-down panel pictured above.

Hi roadcykler, Firefox is currently undergoing changes to extension sideloading:

So it looks like if you're an every day user who doesn't know programming or other more detailed stuff, you're just left in the lurch. I've never even heard of "sideloading" until I read that. Interesting that the vast majority of the responses are negative but apparently Mozilla doesn't care and imposes their will on the actual users. Sad and pathetic.

Thank you. I don't recall seeing that info regarding the .xpi file when I was trying yesterday.
