It is the third time in the last 2 months that i open my firefox finding a message to create a new profile or choose one, but from all the folders in the profiles folder the backup files are missing. Also i noticed that this is happening after windows update.Does someone had any similar problem and knows how to solve it so it will not appear again. By the way i use firefox for almost 10-12 years and i never encountered that before.

Thank you for your time

Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.{web link} I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.

Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.

If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.

Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.

Note: Sometimes the browser thinks something is wrong, and will create a new profile. The original should have been moved to a folder on your desktop.
