Hello ccumming,

When you click on the three dots at the end of the address bar (Page Actions) you should see the star (Bookmark This Page) there; right-click it and add it to the end of the address bar. Does that work ?

Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars {web link}

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.

Note: about:customizing is no longer present in Firefox 47+ releases.

  • Press Alt or F10 to bring up the toolbar.
    Then View > Toolbars > Customize.
  • Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and
    select Customize.

In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but; some icons are locked in place.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.

That is not what your original post is about; hence I told you how to get the star icon back at the end of the address bar .....

If the star isn't blue when you open a page that you have bookmarked, it could be that the URL has changed. Maybe search for the site in question; find the page and bookmark it again?

Do you have the star present by default on the location/address bar next to the three dot page actions button in case you accidentally removed it ?

You can find items like "Take a Screenshot" and the Bookmark Star in the drop-down list that opens if you click the "Page actions" button (3-dot icon at the right end of the location/address bar). You can right-click an item in the "Page actions" drop-down list to add its button to the location/address bar for easy access.

ccumming, I owe you an apology, cause I just reread the header of your original post, and it doesn't say that the bookmark star is missing, but : "the blue star doesn't show" ......

Maybe the last part of my penultimate post may help (?)
