I remember clearly back in the day, just a few hours ago, deleting cookies meant 1. Open the inspector 2. Find the cookie requiring dismissal 3. Highlight said cookie. 4. Provide the cookie a cigarette and an opportunity speak a few words. 5. Before the cookie to light the smoke or utter a word, hit the delete key on the keyboard. 6. Bye bye cookie.

Now that does not work. I want to know who is responsible. My preliminary research indicates obtaining that information could be a lengthy process. Therefore, prudence dictates a more modest intervention.

I ideas why the cookie deleter button stopped working?

I aplogize for being a noob with such a noob question. Over the last five years, I have deleted any where near 1,000,000 cookies, so I beg your patience in any assistance you might be able to provide.

You posted with a Firefox 70 version. The developer tools are improved and extended in each new Firefox version with new features, so this might be working better in Firefox 71 (current Release) and in Firefox 72 (current Beta) and in Firefox 73 (Nightly build). I normally use the right-click context menu to delete a cookie and that seems to be working.

On Mac you may have to use Shift+Delete to remove an individual cookie.
