Firefox for iOS auto reloading

Until today this was a problem I only had in Safari on my iPhone. Certain sites now do the auto reload thing in the middle of browsing and one site I visit constantly now has a pop up ad that comes up and I have to exit Firefox to get rid of it.

What exactly do you mean with "in the middle of browsing"? Does it auto reload the site?

Especially news site e.g. CNN or BBC automatically refresh their web content. This would be a intended behaviour. You can block pop up ads within the Firefox Settings > Enable checkbox Block Pop-up Windows
