using the following url https://id.cpanel.net/authorize/login. I can get in using the normal webmail url, but I want to set up my emails in Thunderbird please.

I have no idea why you are referencing a cpanel login to use a mail client.

Your hosting provider will be able to advise you on the correct servers to use to use a mail client.
