Whenever I re-open the browser, my settings (Password autofill, Homepage settings) are reset. How do I fix this?

I am running on Windows 7 and I also have Firefox on my iPhone and MacBook. Whenever I open Firefox, my passwords no longer autofill and my Homepage has Pocket, so I go to enable autofill in settings and disable Pocket. Then once I close and reopen Firefox, the problem presents itself again and the settings are reset. I use uBlock Origin, NoScript, HTTPSEverywhere, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials & Kee.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
