Hello miscellaneous-user, Maybe this mozilla Wiki can help answer your question: QA/Sync/Client/Sync Timers

Firefox will Sync automatically when changes are detected to items that need to be synced to other device. There is no need to sync if nothing has changed that requires a sync action. There are some services.sync prefs related to (idle) timers. Most these prefs are automatically set internally and can't be modified. There is a Sync Now menu item (button) in the Firefox Account toolbar button drop-down list that allows to initiate a Sync and there are various lastSync prefs for each engine.

  • services.sync.scheduler
  • services.sync.nextSync
  • services.sync.clients.lastSync
  • services.sync.bookmarks.lastSync
  • services.sync.tabs.lastSync

cor-el, Firefox does not automatically sync, at least not for all actions. For example, to sync tabs open on my phone -- even tabs that have been open for awhile -- I have to manually go into settings and click sync on my mobile browser, and then do the same for my laptop.

I do not need it to sync every time I open a new tab, just every hour would be great. Thank you for the other info, though, I will look into that.

You can go to " about:config " in your browser, select "how often" syncs are triggered. You can visit https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Sync/Client/Sync_Timers for more info.
