I am a software developer who uses several VMs on several different Macs. All are Windows 10 VMs. All of them have Firefox loaded. However, one of them has an issue where the text acts like it is selected on the whole page. So for example on gmail, the whole left side with my folders/etc. is black. I have reinstalled and deleted the Mozilla directory from APPDATA\roaming but the issue still persists. Also, I have messed with the color schemes too, but to no avail. Firefox on this machine is just unusable.

Attached pic shows a portion of gmail, but the problem happens on the majority of websites that I navigate to.

Did you check for issues caused by (dark) High Contrast themes?

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Options/Preferences -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.
