Firefox stops responding..just did it on here..doesn't close all tabs, really slow loading..trouble with shut down..says a program is stopping it from shutting down..sometimes have to force shut down. Really problematic when playing farmville2 on zynga. screen goes white when i click on the side feed (2 days now for this) Freezes, message firefox has stopped responding,does not seem to have anything to do with flash.. I have refreshed several times..nothing seems to help for long. I have windows 7 on this computer..Flash 29.0.0.140 , Firefox 59.0.2 (64 bit). Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Do not like Chrome at all. Neither Spybot nor Windows defender have picked up any viruses...all up to date.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Hi, you may also want to give yourself a scan; just in case as these programs tend to find more things : You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Okay started Firefox in safe mode as suggested...this disables Flash player..cannot play the game without it..downloaded a fresh copy of Flash..but had to load Firefox in normal mode to play...still freezing, crashing. Starting my computer in safe mode would do the same thing.. But thanks for the suggestion.

Flash is a plugin and not affected by Firefox Safe Mode. Please try again.

Okay...This morning I uninstalled Firefox, did a disc cleanup; defragged, did a root kit scan..both quick and deep...found one entry, but it was okay..was Windows Diagnostic from when the computer was new. Re installed Firefox..cleared all caches, cookies, history...set to never remember(this is my usual setting) seemed to be okay for a bit, until i went to play my game..then started acting up..slow...Firefox has stopped responding, white screen when I click on the side feed...it seems worse than ever. My internet speed is Ping 40..download 35.73 and upload 8.12, running wireless. I went to one of the anti malware sites but it is a trial offer, so may try one of the others. Seems to be a major problem between Flash player and Firefox. I noticed while scanning that there seem to be crash reports that haven't been sent to Firefox...not sure why...and the Flash player listed on my computer is 32bits...not the 64 bit that i downloaded yesterday. Could this be causing issues? Would I have to remove all adobe products and start fresh in order for it to install the 64 bit Flash? my system is Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Edition.. As far as Flash, I realize it is a plugin..but when in safe mode it is disabled, so that's makes it a problem. Firefox ran okay in safe mode, albeit a bit slow...but the programs..zynga, jigsaw puzzles that I am experiencing the most problems with require Flash to play. Thank you for all your advice.

The links posted above are Free To Use, but you need to subscribe to get all of the features working.

A 64-bit system can run a 32-bit program. Not a problem.

Many have reported issues using the 64bit Firefox. Install the 32bit version from; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
