I can only open/close Firefox about 3 times then Firefox no longer responds to attempts to open. This affects Google chrome as well, 3 times open/close and LO!

when i finish reading my email i normally close the Firefox browser. When i have another reason to go out on the net i'll reopen Firefox closing it after i am finished. After about the 3rd time Firefox will not open. Same with google Chrome which i use as well. The reason i don't keep Firefox or Google Chrome open is because of the other programs that i run on the PC requiring lots of memory. I can open 8 windows at one time but if i try another one the computer will lock up. I know it's a memory problem but it's what i have to work with. Even though i don't have any window other than Firefox open, after the 3rd shutdown it won't reopen. Only way to restore browser operation is to reboot. I'm suspecting that this problem may be involved with the failure of another program to close prematurely, almost before it's started it's operation. That program has almost 15K datapoints that i certainly don't want to lose. I didn't have this problem with the prior firefox browser, but i don't remember what version it was.
