Why is it that an increasing number of company web sites do not work with Firefox? After contacting them they tell me so.

I have gone onto several sites including www.rci.com, www.usmint.gov and others. After calling these 2, among others, they tell me very specifically that their sites are not optimized for Firefox and may not work at all, which they don't. They suggest IE or Chrome. I don't have Chrome on my computer and have not used or updated IE in about 8 years at least. Why can't Firefox be tweaked to be more user friendly while browsing other companies and trying to shop on these sites. It's not only aggravating but hurts their business as well.

I had no problem using Firefox v58.

What is the exact error message?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

There is Tracking Protection that can block (wanted) content, so check the location/address bar for special icons.
